Margaret Parish (Augusta Dabney), desperate to maintain the sanctity of her family, seeks out a hypnotist named Dr. Edward Brown (David Lewis). She hopes Dr. Brown can use his controversial "mind force" (a powerful hypnotic technique) to physically transform her deformed son Jason (Bart Burns), hidden and locked away in a room near his family, achieve a normal existence which would finally allow his family the same. Margaret becomes overprotective while her husband, George Parish (Gary Campbell) and their daughter Anna (Suzanne) want Jason's influence over their lives removed in favor of a more conventional existence.
